Gate Keepers Firearms Qualification Course
TOPIC: This is a custom handgun training and qualification course open only to the Gatekeeper and other authorized personnel from Fellowship Bible Church NWA. This course is not for beginning students or those who are unfamiliar with the safe handling of a firearm. You must receive authorization from the Gate Keeper Program's leadership before attending this qualification course.
THE QUALIFICATION COURSE:
It's that time again! Come ready to shoot the qualification course. We will have a brief tutorial on the course and a small amount of time allotted for warm up dry and live fire drills, but the majority of the time will be devoted to the qualification course. The course will follow the currentFBI Handgun Qualification Standards.
The qualification standards are as follows:
This is a 50 round course of fire. All draws will be conducted from concealment unless specified "from the ready." All rounds are scored on a QIT silhouette target. Each round inside the target is 2 points. You must have 80 points to pass.
COURSE OF FIRE:
3 yards (6 rounds)
– Draw and fire 3 rounds strong hand only then switch hands and fire 3 rounds support hand in 6 seconds
5 yards (12 rounds)
– Draw and fire 3 rounds in 3 seconds
– From the ready fire 3 rounds in 2 seconds
– From the ready fire 6 rounds in 4 seconds
7 yards (18 rounds)
– Draw and fire 5 rounds in 5 seconds
– Starting with only 4 rounds in the gun, from the ready fire 4 rounds, conduct and emergency reload, then fire 4 more rounds in 8 seconds
– From the ready fire 5 rounds in 4 seconds
15 yards (6 rounds)
– Draw and fire 3 rounds in 6 seconds
– From the ready fire 3 rounds in 5 seconds
25 yards (8 rounds)
– Draw and fire 4 rounds standing then drop to kneeling and fire 4 more rounds in 20 seconds
- Semi-auto pistol w/ holster
- Concealment garment (jacket, vest, etc. Pullovers are not recommended.)
- 2 magazines minimum (3 recommended)
- 100 rounds ammo
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection
- Knee Pad (optional)
- Lunch (optional)
- Rain Gear (we train rain or shine)
- Lawn chair

FACILITATOR: Mark Booher, JD, CPS, is the founder of Barritus Defense, an intelligence and security training company serving the military, law enforcement, and the private sector.
Mark is a veteran of the United States Army where he conducted force protection operations as a member of NATO's Allied Rapid Reaction Corps. He has deployed and worked with every branch of US Military and several multi-national forces. Mark is a Certified Executive Protection Specialist and has trained in Israeli counter-terrorism and security methods in the West Bank.
Following his military service, Mark studied law at the University of Arkansas and spent 6 years as a deputy prosecuting attorney. During his time, he prosecuted hundreds of cases involving shootings, batteries, and other violent crimes. He has trained hundreds of members of the military, law enforcement and private sector on intelligence and security operations and is a contributor to The Counter Terrorist Magazine.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You must to be over 18 years of age and receive approval from the Gate Keeper Leadership to participate in this event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You do not need to bring you ticket to the event. We will have a roster of all attendees taken from the registration site.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund (minus credit card and processing fees) for cancellations received 10 business days prior to the event. We do not offer refunds due to inclement weather, floods, earthquakes and other Acts of God which we cannot control, but you will receive full credit to use for one of our subsequent events. We understand that things happen at the last minute, so if something happens inside the 10 day notification window, just let us know and we will credit your registration to the next event with no questions asked.
What kind of gun should I use?
Any semi-automatic hand gun will work. Pistols with magazines that carry at least a 10 round capacity is optimal and recommended, but not required. You must qualify with the type and caliber duty weapon as approved by your Gate Keeper Leadership
