MOS 11B Infantry/35F Intelligence Counter-Terrorism and Security Tactical Firearms Close Quarter Combatives Mark is the Founder and Senior Instructor for Barritus Defense. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mark spent almost 10 years conducting infantry, intelligence, and security operations. Mark has studied both the U.S. and British interrogation and debriefing methods and has deployed or trained with every branch of the US military and several multi-national forces. Mark is a Certified Close Protection Specialist and has trained in Israel's West Bank, with members of the Israeli Defense Force in counter-terrorism and security methods. Following his military service, he studied law at the University of Arkansas and spent 6 years as a deputy district attorney. During that time, he prosecuted numerous cases involving homicide, shootings, assaults, and other crimes of violence. Mark has trained military units at Fort Bragg, personnel from the Department of Justice, Fortune 500, and law enforcement officers from over 60 departments from around the country. He is also contributor to The Counter Terrorist Magazine and has appeared on Fit'n Fire, the Ever Vigilant, Stand Firm, and other podcasts. |

MOS 11B Infantry/Ranger, Sniper Qualified Long-Range Shooting Special Operations Tactics Firearms Alex is a decorated combat veteran and former team and squad leader with the United States Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment, completing four tours in Afghanistan. As a Ranger, Alex led small units in high-risk operations, honing the skills, decision-making, and leadership necessary to succeed under extreme conditions. A graduate of Airborne, Ranger, and Sniper School, Alex has trained alongside special operations personnel from multiple allied nations, gaining a broad perspective on tactics, strategy, and battlefield adaptability. He has also completed advanced military combatives training, emphasizing hand-to-hand combat, close-quarters tactics, and survival skills in dynamic, high-threat environments. In addition to his operational experience, Alex is a certified Tiger Swan Rifle and Pistol Instructor, bringing combat-proven marksmanship, small-unit tactics, and leadership under pressure to every course he teaches. He combines the discipline and rigor of special operations with practical instruction that prepares students for both professional readiness and real-world scenarios. Alex’s expertise bridges elite military training and modern tactical education, giving students access to the techniques, mindset, and leadership principles that guided him and his teams through some of the most demanding missions in the world. |
