Advanced Carbine Tactics (Pennsylvania)
The Advanced Carbine Tactics course is designed to challenge your shooting fundamentals and help you discover any failure points in you and your gear. At the end of the day, you will get to put your skills to the test with our unique and challenging course design. Your accuracy, speed, and technique will be pushed to their limits by one of our professional instructors in a safe and fun environment.
**This is an advanced level course. You must have successfully completed either our Combat Rifle Level 1, Urban Rifle Operator, or our Tactical Carbine/Pistol Course to attend this course.
Training topics include:
- Review of shooting fundamentals and weapon manipulations
- Prone, Kneeling, and Urban Prone Positions: Techniques for shooting from various positions.
- Barricade and Cover Utilization: Using cover effectively in different shooting scenarios.
- Shooting from Unconventional Positions: Engaging targets from atypical positions (e.g., supine, rollover prone).
- Individual Movement Techniques: Bounding, peeling, and other tactical movements.
- Team Movement Drills: Coordinating movements with a partner or small team.
- Communication Under Stress: Verbal and non-verbal communication methods during engagements.
- Physical and Mental Stress Inoculation: through stress shoots and mental conditioning exercises
- And so much more!
The course will culminate with a test of all the skills you learned throughout the course.

Gear Requirements:
- 1 carbine rifle (AR-15/AK/etc.,) with a sling
- 500 rounds FMJ ammunition (no green tip, armor piercing, etc)
- 3 Magazines (minimum)
- A method to secure your magazines (battle belt, chest rig, etc.)
- Chamber flag
- Hearing Protections
- Eye Protection
- Hydration
- Lunch
- Rain Gear (We train rain/shine)
- Gun lube, cleaning rag or kit
- note taking material and pen/pencil
Recommended/Optional Gear:
- hat
- sunscreen/bug spray
- knee pads
- lawn chair
- tactical light mounted on your carbine

Instructor Bio:
Mark Booher is the Founder and Senior Instructor for Barritus Defense. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mark spent over 10 years in the infantry and intelligence career field. He's assignments included team leader, squad leader, and infantry instructor.
Mark is a Certified Close Protection Specialist and has trained in Israel's West Bank, in counter-terrorism and security methods with members of the Israeli Defense Force.
Following his military service, Mark studied law at the University of Arkansas and spent 6 years as a deputy district attorney. During that time, he prosecuted numerous cases involving homicide, shootings, assaults, and other crimes of violence.
Mark has trained military units at Fort Bragg, personnel from the Department of Justice, Fortune 500, and law enforcement officers from over 60 departments from around the country. He is also contributor to The Counter Terrorist Magazine.

Do I need to bring my ticket with me?
- No, we will have a roster to check you off when you report for sign-in.
Are there any requirements to attend this class?
You must be a United States citizen, able to legally possess and use a firearm. You must have attended Combat Rifle 1, Tactical Carbine/Pistol Course, or the Urban Rifle Operator course to be eligible to attend this class.
What is your cancellation policy?
- Due to the limited availability, there will be no refunds for cancellations. If you notify us prior to 48 hours prior to the start of class, you will receive full credit that be used for a subsequent class.
